This school year has been the craziest yet. So many changes have happened for me personally and in my day to day work life. Through all of the shifts of 2020 here are some of the key lessons I have learned is that...
Change is not the end of the world.
A keyword for 2020 is CHANGE. We have all had to adjust to so many sudden changes this year that it barely phases any of us anymore. For me those changes included: The shift to e-learning in over night in the spring. The transition from e-learning in the Fall to Covid-19 influenced school. And the sudden end to a relationship that I did not see coming are some of the adjustments that I have had to make this year.
I had moments of frustration, anger, and confusion as I was faced with each one. But after a time I realized that change will not kill me. Change can be the chaotic storm that clears our path for something better. A new proficiency in technology as a tool to reach students, A wealth of knowledge on how to keep students safe in the classroom that translates to them staying safe outside of school. Or the opportunity to meet new people who are better suited to my needs and lifestyle.
I am choosing to believe that change is the push that we need to grow. Here is to embracing the changes that come our way in order to become better.
